Post-mortem fault analysis for TSOs
Post-mortem disturbance analysis is performed to investigate the power system behaviour and possibly find out incorrect or suspicious operation of protection relays, circuit breakers etc. This process provides input for further processes, including: preparing fault statistics, assessing power quality, optimizing the maintenance, and maintaining the quality of the network models.

  Quick assistance to control center
Collecting data and putting the pieces of the event analysis puzzle together does not need to be a tedious, time-consuming matter. IVPower collects recordings from all data sources automatically.
In this process, time synchronization is verified and optimized, so the records can be grouped in event folders. Disturbance records are pre-processed to facilitate further analysis. The software detects analog signal changes and provides numerous measurements, such as phasors and loop impedances, for each electrical state of the power system. Users can also tag the records that are produced during protection testing and hide them to fault analysis. IVPower makes possible time and resource-efficient analysis and reporting by the control and protection staff. This increases efficiency, reduces costs, and contributes to better system reliability by assisting decision taking with comprehensive data.

Disturbance recordings are used to document and understand a power system fault; to manually verify the behaviour of digital protection relay; and nowadays, to perform automatic fault analysis for the sake of fast and accurate fault location and to assist fault analysis engineers in their task.
Results of automatic event analysis are compiled into reports. A web interface allows to browse these reports and more detailed data, including measurements and the disturbance recordings themselves. Users can be notified typically by email as soon as an important event is recognized.
The solution can be tailored to individual requirements typically by including appropriate adapters and some dedicated algorithms.
